Maysene Agric facilitates landfill waste diversion and collects sorted organic waste from businesses like shopping centres, hospitals, casinos, factories and farms and combines it to make a mixture where the waste will be consumed by black soldier fly larvae (BSF).

They will be converted into valuable products like Black Soldier Fly Larvae protein, Black Soldier Fly Larvae Powder, Black Soldier Fly Larvae Organic Frass Fertiliser and Fermented Digestate liquid Fertiliser as well as renewable energy and biogas.

Diverted Waste

50 % of annual landfill contributions are organic waste which amounts to 19 000 000 tonnes a year. The goals set out in the National Development Plan specify that the onus will be on individual businesses to ensure that their waste is diverted from landfills.
